Now in its third year, Classically Black continues to pose vital questions about what classical music is, who it speaks to, and how it remains relevant in the 21st century. By creating space for honest and necessary dialogue, the series invites audiences and artists alike to reconsider long-held assumptions about the genre and the structures that shape it.
Come and hear an orchestra reshaping who classical music is for. Europe’s first majority Black, Asian and ethnically diverse ensemble, Chineke! performs works by overlooked composers in every concert, true to its motto: “championing change and celebrating diversity in classical music.”

Il Turco in Italia worthy of headline status! Presented here not as an emulation but how Teatro Nuovo imagine what the Garcías must have hoped to present.
So, Don Giovanni as a bel canto opera? Expect the unexpected! The opera is an unfathomable masterpiece, and there is no one right way to approach it. For this production, Teatro Nuovo are taking their cues from what we know of García, Bassi, and Da Ponte, and expecting it to bring surprises and delight.

From a deadly duel to a ghostly reckoning, the drama ignites in the historic stable yards of Lismore Castle with sharp humour, beauty, and a touch of the supernatural.

fractured rhapsody is the excavation, dissection and interrogation of post-traumatic joy - siloed, singular, surpassing understanding and broken. Featuring the works of Stefan L. Smith, Jessie Montgomery, James Lee III, Iván Enrique Rodriguez and more is this rhapsodically fractured program unfettered bliss and tumult or the facade of the former in the face of the latter? You decide.
