Pictured below are my historical and modern clarinets. I’m slowly building my collection of historical instruments and really enjoying the journey of discovery that’s unfolding as I do so, deepening my understanding of the instruments and their history and historical context. Below you can see from left to right my 5-key B-flat Lotz copy pitched in A430 made of boxwood by Soren Green who is based in Rotterdamn, Netherlands; next is my Devon & Burgani B-flat ‘Fluency’ clarinet with gold plated keys and a 63mm barrel - Devon and Burgani is a boutique Brazilian clarinet brand; next to it is my 5-key A Lotz copy pitched in A430 made of boxwood by Soren Green; and the last one is my Devon & Burgani A ‘Fluency’ clarinet with gold plated keys and a 64mm barrel. The mouthpieces pictured are: on the Lotz copy a 3D printed mouthpiece made by Soren Green with a string ligature; on the Devon & Burgani a Vandoren B40 mouthpiece with the Vandoren leather ligature and ligature cap.
